Andrews Aeromaster
I have an Aeromaster that was given to me that is in great shape, however, the topcoat is starting to wrinkle and lift in places. I have experimented and found that Acetone will soften the topcoat and with a lot of effort can be removed. There are places that will peel off and I need to address this before I fly it as not to contaminate with 2 stroke oil. I am pretty sure that the covering is silk. Does anyone have any idea what topcoat was used in this era and if it is possible to rejuvenate it, like the old dope and fabric full size airplanes.
Thanks

RE: Andrews Aeromaster
Too many choices to guess; as in Aero-Gloss dope or K&B Super-Poxy.
Simply respray with light gray sandable auto primer, then any colors of epoxy enamel or Ultracote matching sprays. As seen on here, I hate Lustre Kote sprays because of it's summer time application flashing and often orange peel finish.
