Default Vintage Contender Plans Sought

I was fortunate enough to buy a Dave Platt Contender that had been plans built at the VR/CS show in Spring Hill earlier this year. Unfortunately, I did not get the plans and do not remember who I bought the plane from. Does anyone know of a source for the vintage 1969 Dave Platt Contender? I'm certain that the current Top Flite offering is not what I'm looking for. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Brian C

I have the old red box kit from Top Flite. Is it the same as the Platt version?

Thanks for the replys guys.

I was unaware that there was a red box version of the Contender. Might have to be patient and keep a look out on the online auction sites.

I was fortunate enough to spend some time with Dave Platt recently at the inaugural RC/VS Pioneers of Flight show a few weekends ago in Cocoa, FL. He didn't mention any plans were available, but then again, I did not ask.

I have the orignal magazine construction article if anyone is interested. I believe American Airdcraft Modeler from 1969.

Hello my name is Benjamin and I am in search of the plans or an original 1969 Contender Kit. My search has led me here to this forum and if you still check this is there anyway I could get a copy of the pans you spoke of earlier, or info on where I might be able to get the plans or Kit? Thank you

I just tried it with Google Chrome. It worked fine. Suggest you check your settings to make sure you can read/download PDF files. If all else fails, maybe I can copy the files I have downloaded and send the jpg or bmp files to you, or post them here. Not sure that would work, but I could try.

Sincerely, Richard

Try this JPEG image of the OZ PDF file. Good luck

If you know the size of something on the image (like the wing span), take the image to Kinkos and tell them you want to print the image to the size that will make the wing span the correct size. Good luck.

Since I didn't know how to load a PDF file to RCU, I downloaded the file to my pc screen, took a screen print of the image, pasted the screen print to Paint, then saved it as a jpeg file, which could download to RCU. So, the image lost its' original capability to print to scale.

Default Conetnder plan

Here is the PDF. It should print full size.

If you get a white screen on Outerzone when trying to download a plan, just right click your mouse and a menue will pop up.
Click on "save as" or "save page as" and the file will download ok.
It's weird but it happens to me too.
