Prairie Bird [RC], by Peck Polymers
#1

Hi Everyone,
Greetings once again from the 'Valley of the Sun'.
I would like to build/fly an old Prairie Bird kitted in the past by Peck Polymers. I have contacted them, and they may kit it again in the future, but have none rite now.
Does anyone out there have a kit or plans for the Prairie Bird; [a Kinko's copy of said plans would be great], let me know costs etc.
Many thanx in advance, best regards to All from sunny and warm Phoenix,
Joe Nagy. email: [email protected]

Hi Dave;
Greetings to you from the 'Valley of the Sun'.
Long time-no talk. How did those Rev-Up Pylon props work outfor you a couple or 3 yrs back; damn, but I miss Rev-Up props, [fortunately I still have several hundred stashed away].
Many thanx for your helping me out with the Prairie Bird. I too, thought that I had seen it published somewhere in the modelling press, but thus far have not been able to locate it in my extensive magazine archives: I thought for sure it was Model Builder...NO, not in RCM, so I am almost through Model Aviation's plans inventory, still have FM and MAN to go, but doubt they published it....but who knows for sure.
Peck Polymers will sell me the plans, [just rec'd an email from them], however, the plan does not show the wing section, just rib spacing; sorta' like the VECO kit plans of old, just an assist to build said kit, you could not scratch one from the plans without 'redesigning' the model.
So, I will await kit details from you and follow up on same; again, many thanx Dave, I appreciate your help, boy oh boy, this 'net thing is great, sure is! I will close for now, best regards from sunny and warm Phoenix,

Hi Everyone;
Greetings once again from the 'Valley of the SUn'.
I followed up on Dave Segal's lead above and rec'd via UPS a brand spanking new Prairie Bird kit this past Fri. aft. Many thans to you Dave.
The lead Dave sent me was the following web site for Penn Valley Hobby Center in Lansdale, PA, just North of Philly I think: http://www.pennvalleyhobbycenter.com/. This old fashioned hobby shop is owned and operated by Bill & Jean SHive. I dealt with Karl, and all in all, had a very pleasant buying experience. So, if you have need of some special RC need, check out/with the above website and the nice folks at Penn Valley Hobby Center.
In closing, Happy Easter to All, and again special thanx to Dave Segal for his helping me, and best regards from sunny and warm Phoenix,
Joe Nagy.

This plane was called "Big Bird the ET" when it was originally published. I think in Model Builder magazine. I have the full size original plan if it and have built one which flew great with an OS .10.

Hello Scott!
The Prairie bird 50 is available in kit form from several places including Sig Mfg.
http://www.sigmfg.com/cgi-bin/dpsmar...m_02PECPP29_01
The little Prairie bird is here with free plans and article:
http://www.theplanpage.com/things/pb/pb.htm
It could easily be scaled up to several convenient sizes.
By the way Scott did you realize just how old this thread is? Heh!
