Default NELITZ 1/3 SCALE J3 CUB ARTICLE

I bought the Nelitz 1/3 scale J3 Cub plan and would like to have a copy of the complete article about the construction of this plane. I have the original magazine that had the picture on the cover but the article seems to be incomplete. Does anyone happen to have it? If you do and could fax it to me my fax number is (310) 375-8616. Thanks in advance.

Hi Don,
It would be appreciated if you would take pic's of the build you are doing, you can add them here in this thread.
You may want to edit the Title from Article to "Build" or just remove the "Article" part all together, after you get all the Doc' of course.

Good luck with it and happy building"

Don,

Would this be the article you are after. From the book "Giant Steps" published by MAN.

Well I'm off work this weekend and I can post what I've done so far.

I built the Rudder. Both wings are under construction now. I am happy to see some fellow Cub lovers checking in on the thread. I hope yoou all will chime in if you have any good suggestions and tips as we proceed. I haven't picked the color scheme yet.

It's still very early in the build. I tried soaking the 3/8" dowel for a week and still could not bend it enough for the wing tips without it cracking. So what I have done is laminate about five strips of 1/16" balsa for the tips. I haven't made the ailerons yet , maybe this weekend.

I did soak and bend the dowel OK for the Rudder.

Is there a landing gear kit available for this size?

I was looking at the Robart gear and/or the Balsa USA gear. I may just make it.

The plans show a Quadra 42 but I intend to install a G-62, the plane will definetly handle more weight and extra power is always a plus. I imagine that you would need to add quite a bit of nose weight with the Quadra anyhow.

I was thinking that I might use a BME 80 twin that I have if it weighs enough to balance . If not, I also have a G62 and a 100 twin laying around. I like the twins but the G62 fits inside the cowl and I might build the dummy engine to look more scale.
