Mid South Vintage RC Society Flyin Update

Guys, less than 2 weeks left before the MidSouth Vintage Flyin down here in NC. Let's pray the weather holds sunshine 80 degrees and light winds today. Also it was brought to my attention about a impromptu swap meet for vintage kits, engines, models, radio gear and such. So if you got any old vintage stuff laying around or want to see some of the older designs fly again, please check out the website http://midsouthflyin.tripod.com and come on down!!

Thanks,

Bob Harris

Dick, you are more than welcome to come on over. Sorry you kinda feeling poor but you'll never be TOO old to fly!! BTW here are the awards plaques for the flyin. Just got them yesterday. One of these would look great on your favorite wall!!

Evan, hope you are bringing that slightly super sized old timer. I heard you had to measure the covering material in square acres!!!

Yeah, the covering cost more than the motor......

I am planning on bringing it, got it out of the attic and did a test flight last weekend to make sure it's airworthy after the winter sleep. Which da is the bigger of the two, saturday or sunday (in case I have to choose)?

Saturday should be the biggest of the 2 day event. There are several guys coming for the 2 day and banquet Saturday night but a lot are coming just for Saturday. Sunday we will just fly, brag and plan for next year!!!

See ya there.

Bob,
A great event, and a great time. It's really neat when guys show up from Pennsylvania, Canada, and Kentucky for a "Mid-South" Vintage Fly-in. So many fliers and soooo many great planes. See you again next year!!

Guys, thanks for coming even though the wind was a bit brisk we all got several flights in. Evan, your giant old timer was marvelous. I can't believe it flew so well and slow! Wind...What wind? Goliath the Spook was beautiful with it gull wings and Jeff your Taurus was great and the kits are the best quality. (Guys if you want a great Taurus kit Jeff has them available now) Thanks for helping out Dwayne with his Taurus. For those who missed this years event I hope to post some pictures and next years event is already being planned!!

Thanks Again!!

To whoever it was, (I'm sorry about a lack of name), who had the super-slow flying yellow and red plane with the broken strut------I took some very nice pictures of your plane in flight, that I'm very proud of, and would like you to have. Please contact me.

That's Duane with the new/(old) blue and yellow Taurus, (modified).

Thanks, and thank you Bob for staging such a great event. There was at least one guy there from Ontario, Canada.

Hey Duane,
I believe it was evan-RCU. You're talking about the guy with the humongolous Quaker with an ~15' wingspan, right?
He's right down the road from you in Shawlotte, NC.
