Anyone remember this plane? I built this as a Top Flight kit back in the late 60s. I found the plans in RCM magazine plans and can't wait to build it. It would fly single channel with an .049 up to a .15 with 3 channel. The plane sure does look bigger(on paper) than I remember. It would hold just about any radio equipment in the 60s ,very roomy radio compartment.

I saw one with a TD .09 and a EK Logictrol(sp?) brick type radio around 1968. It was flying in a circle so close to the pilot it looked like a control line plane. This plane should really do well with the smaller radio systems of today.

I built one of these a few years ago from plans and powered it with an OS .15. Way too much power!! Three channels and lots of fun! Covered it with silkspan and coverite.

A classic Ken Willard design and easy to build and fly.

I built a Top Dawg in 1968 powered it with a .15 S/T diesel
wow what a lot of fun rebuilt it glue and covering in 1988 it had over 200 flights has had 375 more since then with FP .25
now resting in rafters nose coming appart from oil ang old age
still have the box with built in jig for fuselage

built in 1990 the hot dawg version ( thin wing) pylon racing version) with mini servos and ailerons and .25 FP
wow is the word fast and lively over 200 flights on this one also

they are very nice small models compact and very good flyers
will keep your fingers in shape at high speeds and turn on a dime

I built a bunch of them and learned multi channel with one equipped with an OS 10 Later built several with the OS 15 and yes it sure could fly a tight dia circle as I used to do at a private airport I once flew out of. One complaint easily rectified was the tendency for the nose to break clean at the firewall: so I simply added another doubler per plan location and problem solved
