VK Cherokee Plan
Does anyone have a spare Vk Cherokee plan (not the BABE), or copy they would be willing to part with/sell? I would like to build another from the plan but have been unable to locate one. Or, could someone direct me to where I might purchase a plan (black line is OK). Thanks for your thoughts.

Thank you, John, for your kindness in helping what appears to be quite a number of VK Cherokee lovers. Much appreciated!!

RE: VK Cherokee Plan
Thanks, sure wish someone would kit this thing again. They are a super flying airplane and a good build.

RE: VK Cherokee Plan
well that would probably be proctor as they bought the vk ww1 line and made a limited run about 1990 or so maybe time to contact them and see what it would take to do a second run or do what we did for the super duelist have a kit cutter run of a batch of 50 or so.
how many would be interested?I count my self for 1 |

RE: VK Cherokee Plan
Too bad it dosen't look like enough interest, but I would like another go at it. I had a couple VK Cherokee's back in the 70's. They were excellent flyers. I'm wondering how the Jack Stafford Comanchee compares in flight, as I have a kit hiding in the back room. Anyone built and fly both?
Thanks |
RE: VK Cherokee Plan
Eddie cut me a kit a few years back, might try him http://www.lazer-works.com/ Remind him not to cut out the windows!!

RE: VK Cherokee Plan
I was fortunate enough to get a kit about a week ago. Having had a few of these in the day I still was amazed at the quality of the wood that Vernon Kriebel put into his kits. I'm sure that the plans are available somewhere at a decent price and while it won't satisfy a lot of newer flyers it sure is a great model to just go out and enjoy flying like it should be or was.

RE: VK Cherokee Plan
Aerowoof, your VK Cheroke looked great. I had one in the 80's, and loved the way it flew. A friend of mine gave me a partialy built one a few months ago, its on the back burner but I do intend to get it flying soon. I plan on putting a vintage K&B 61 in it just like the one I had back then. Of course then I had a 6 Ch Kraft radio without reverse, dual rates, or Expo. It has got to fly much better with the newer computer radio Ihave now. I do have a Tower Hobbies 6 that is almost new, which may help me qualify it for a Vintage meet sometime.

RE: VK Cherokee Plan
If I could get a copy as well. I am rebuilding a damaged wing and could use a scan of the Wing rib so I can rebuild the 1/2 of the wing that is damaged.
Thx in advance. - Bill - |
