Top Flite P-40 decal issue
I'm having a problem with my newly built TF P-40. I applied the tiger teeth decals per the tried and true method of using soapy water to give time to slide and line things up. That worked OK but now I have areas around the edges that won't stick!! They continue to lift up. There is no way I'm going to rip the teeth of now that I have everything just right around all those compound corners. Is there an explanation as to why areas would not be sticky or a solution that eludes me?
The bird is beautiful save for the peeling teeth! |

It could be that you used too much soap or didn't squeegee it all out. The only thing I can think of is to try to wick thin CA around the edges that are loose. If you decide to rip it off and try again PM me, I have a spare set of the teeth.

There could have been extra stuff that didn't get cleaned out when you squeegeed on the decal. You can stick it down with a touch of Coverite Balsarite. That's an adhesive for covering materials and is a fuel proofer to boot.

Bill,
That's a good idea, thanks. I assume I should peel back, slightly spot it on, let it dry, then press the decal back on ... right? Mike |

You can peel back, lightly spot the Balsarite on, and the put the decal right on. Give it a few days to dry, though. You don't have to wait for it to dry first.
