RE: novus cp upgrades??
Did the same and bought Walkera 4G3 double brushlesswith metal headfor $ 90here at the buy and sell forum. The helimax cp is rebranded walkera heli.
It is a picky to fly hely, the standard tail brushless motor is marginal so buy the upgrade.
I bought my spares at wow hobbies, think the top upgrades are more fuzz than what they do. After spending other $ 90 in spares and parts probably will recomend: Walkera brushless main motor with 16 tooth pinion, and the bigest tail brushlless option.
Think the metal main post is worst than the plastic as it bends when crashing. So probalbly is best to have all the metal upgrades except the main post. For sure plastic is fine and should save in this upgrades and spend it in the motor and esc, and spares.
The foam blades break very easy, the wood blades last more, BUY SPARES.
Go to the Walkera site and down load their tunning tips for the 4G3
Good luck,
Juan

RE: novus cp upgrades??
wow!! could have asked for a better reply!! Thank you!
so your saying upgrade everything to metal just not the main drive rod?? i have seen the Heli-Max HMXE7476 Complete CNC Head Conversion Novus CP. is this the metal part your saying not to buy or i can? also this heli when i give little over half lift it starts to spin like crazy and cant stop it also the rear motor makes a lot of noise. doesnt sound good. the wow hobbies has a brushless motor upgrade with carbon fiber stand or something but im not sure what the biggest tail motor is. what ya think about carbon fiber main rotors?

The stock brushed tail motor is marginall as the main motor.
Tail Brushless

Main motor

Speed control for main motor

Do google search before you buy any upgrades as you will find most of wow upgrades have reports of quality isues.
Save money and start with the brushless upgrades, and learn to trim the heli.
Think carbon paddles are a waste of money as they are heavy and the lightes the better for this small heli.
Foam blades seem OK once you don´t crash.
The haavier the main blades and the more work the tail motor needs to work to compensate tork.
Idid my own balsa and plywood blades. Just copied the shabe of the foam blades. Since not doing any 3D did them witha flat bottom and all the buttom was 1/16 aircraft plywood and the top balsa. They came lite as teh foam blades, and really tough due to the plywood.
Cheers,
Juan
