Default axe cpv3 battery?

hey guys, i know from experience this is the place to go for info. ok so i recently bought a cpv3, got it for 40 bucks from a guy on craiglist. he told me that he bought it about a year ago, took it out to fly and it lifted off the ground about two feet, lost power and came right back down. said he didnt have the knowledge to figure it out and couldnt find a local shop to work on it. from what i know about helis i gave it a good look over. looks to be in incredible condition. it needs a tail rotor. so heres the low down. i plugged the battery into the heli and the green light on the board flashes green, then the servos twitch and the light goes out. ok so i assume the battery is dead, it has been sitting for a year now in this guys closet. so i plug in the charger and connect the stock lipo to the charger. the red light immediatly starts flashing red. i look online and apparently this means there is something wrong with the lipo? so i am wondering, what lipos are compatible with the axe cpv3, im not sure what to order in terms of what will fit, and what wont throw the cg off. so if someone could compile a list of batteries for me that will work in this heli without any mods i would really appreciate it.

also, if anything i described sounds fishy please point it out. i am unfamiliar with this heli and i didnt get a manual with it. thanks fellas!

in addition, i just used a multimeter and checked the voltage of each cell, one read 4.44 volts, one read 2.26 volts, and the other read 1.51 volts. is there a way to possibly salvage the stock lipo?

Opinions differ here, it may or may not be salvageable, but its very dangerous to do so with the individual cell voltages so far off.. What Idefinately would recomend is either getting yourself a Lipo Sac (helps to reduce the risk of burning down your house if the lipo decides to go) or Getting rid of the battery altogeather. For what you got the helicopter for a battery is going to be very cheap, and sounds like it is a good possibility that its the issue the helicopter is having.
