Default Motor selection for a Heli-Max MX450 XS ARF

I was wondering if anyone has installed the A20-6XL w/Hacker X-30 Pro ESC package into this Heli. I have to make a decision as to what motor to install. Based on the Kv output and amps it should be resonably close. This Outrunner has a shaft diameter of 3mm so I don't know where to find pinion gears as they mostly fit onto 2.3mm shafts. Here is the link to the Hacker site http://www.hackerbrushless.com/motors_a20.shtml

I used the Ammo 28-45-2700 to get started. Haven't tried the A20-6, but my MX450XS kit came with both a 2.3mm and 3.175mm (1/8" ) pinion; the larger one should fit the Hacker. Otherwise the A20-6 is a 2500kV; the recommended Ammo motor is a 2700kV, which is close enough. If it will physically mount up easily, I don't know, but I needed Mr. Dremel to mount the GP motor anyway.

Thanks for the reply. How many teeth are on the pinion gear(s)?

NP-- interested in other motors for this guy. What good is a heli if you can't change stuf even if it isn't broken?

Both of mine are 14 tooth.

(and btw, using a Castle 35-- nice, but warm)

I have the Align 430L 3550 in mine. Have to gear it down for this motor though, but it runs strong. I also run the Align 35A ESC and at the end of a flight the temps on both are around 106F.

Thanks for the info. guys. TEX when you say gear down, do you mean install a pinion gear with less teeth? I have been told that the Heli comes with 2 different sizes of pinion gears. They both have 14 teeth but have slightly different inside diameters. Also TEX how many teeth does your pinion gear have with your Align 430L 3550kv set up?
