Quick question...ok couple
First off, i'm in the final stages of building...
I am trying to find the ideal places for the mounting of all my electronics. Here is what I'm thinking...try to visualize this one Up front-battery behind the motor-gyro behind gyro-esc (or under the chassis) above battery on upper frame-rx Now here is my reasoning. Having the gyro near the middle should create better results theoretically, the esc should be far from rx right? The rx is up top away from everything, the only thing near is the battery and yes my radio fit there with a canopy:) What do you think, is it a good set up or no...It is just a preliminary thought all input is great. Next question, I have everything assembled and locktight/CAed except for my control links...do i need to ca them or not? I can't decide if i should or not, well I won't untill i have my servos installed anyway but just wondering. Last, How tight to make the dang belt, the manual says you should almost be able to touch the two sides together but I find it nearly impossible to make it that tight and when I do it makes it harder to spin the rotors...I am assuming there is a happy medium somewhere any pointers? thanks all! |
RE: Quick question...ok couple
Is this for the MX400?
Do not CA the control links, they will have to be adjusted periodically. But if you mean the screws holding the balls to whatever they mount to, yes, loktite or CA these for sure (don't get any actually on the balls! Use the tinyest possible amount). Loktite will attack most plastics, CA doesnt stick very well to CF, there is a Tamiya threadlocker that works ok for metal-to-plastic without getting ridiculous like CA. |
RE: Quick question...ok couple
haha ya guess i should have said that---yes its an mx400
thanks i didnt think i should ca the links but just wanted to verify. |

Rcman,
Don't tighten the tail belt too much. Better to be a little too loose than too tight. If it's too tight, it will shorten your flight time, (waste more battery power), and puts more strain on the drive train. Also, when they say to pinch the belt and almost make it touch, they mean just lightly pinch it. It sounds like yours is too tight already. Jesse |
RE: Quick question...ok couple
thats what i figured about the belt, thanks for that
