well just got my Axe cp in the mail yesterday and i was wondering if you guys had any tips or information on how to hover.

Personally, I would start here.

Radd's School of Rotary Flight

This virtual flight school has been created to give novice pilots all the info they need to quickly get up to speed and not lose time and money on doing things the wrong way. It's a completely voluntarily work by many people from all over the world. Make sure to check out the contributors page and if you feel there is info missing, don't be shy to write something yourself and contribute.
What is the goal of this?

As many people struggle with the technical aspect of getting thier heli put together and getting it into the air, I thought it was not a bad idea to put my findings into electronic form and put it online. Buying an ECO after 20 years of flying planks got me into the Ikarus BBS. I got to know many very interesting and knowledgable people there and got into building this site when a member, called Radd, suggested of starting a flight school. I jumped on the occation and soon afterwards got the basics for this site started. Many regulars of the Ikarus BBS have made contributions and still do so. Every one of them is an expert in their field, which is a guarantee for the valitdity of the information. In time I'm sure this site will contain so much material there won't be any need any more to buy books on helicopters. :-)

Radd system is great.. and if you do crash.... Blade grips, don't add to the graveyard of us that have broken them :)

Keep patient, get the heli light in place and then start from small hovers. If you go outside the chalk line you draw, consider it a crash :) Kill the throttle and re-start back inside the chalk box...

Check your trim controls and then always stand behind the heli when first starting so you can get the hang of it...

Radd's and flight simulator if you have one or can get time on one. My LHS will sell time on sim for $10.00 per hour,perhaps your LHS may do the same.

Once you've run a few batteries out with the heli just sitting on the floor getting used to the controls, the biggest problem is overcontrolling when working on hovering. The heli goes left so you add right cyclic and now its going right, kinda swinging back and forth and up and down. You really have to make quick small adjustments before it starts moving. You will see it tilt and you must quickly get it level again before it heads in the direction it's tilting. But, don't overcontrol creating another need for input.
