First forward flight Axe CP
 

Well I went for it today. I figured I had enough hovering and gave it a shot. It was a BLAST the heli was very responsive with little stick movement. These little things are way more sensitive than my Raptor 30. I took a chance with the wind it was alittle more than what I should have been flying in. Also the area I was in was to confined. Next time it will be in a wide open area where I can let her rip without having to worry about trees and a building close by, this really takes from one on one thinking. Looking forward to tomorrow so I can try it again. Thanks

The first time is always the scariest! I am still dialing in my hovering in all orientations. I would hate for my little bird to be facing me and have myself FREAK out and crash hard.

Remember when it is flying twards you always move the stick to the down side of the rotor that will keep you level.

I've always just imagined myself in the pit, for planes and heli's; steer the aircraft the way you want it to go if you we're sitting in it.
Seems to work for me, most of the time.
I have gotten into trouble in inverted flight before, and of coure gotten dissoriented by the silouette as well.

I was showing off once for a friend and his girl.
I said "watch this"
You should know the rest of the story by now, but I'll tell it anyways.
I was performing a low inverted pass with my great planes trainer 20 at full throttle; by low I mean about 50 feet. Not a real hot plane, but at full throttle she had some decent speed.
As I passed by, I pulled instead of pushing.
If I would have followed through and held it, the damage would'nt have been as bad.
Instead, I realized my mistake and pushed, only to hit the ground at a perfect 90 degree nose in attitude, and still full throttle mind you.
I had to dig about 6 inch's into the dirt to find the carbourator. After a new engine, and major overhaul to the nose of the fuselage, and minor wing repair, I was back up and flying.
I've had a few decsent crashes with my shuttle xx .30, but nothing spectacular since I'm not ready for heli inverted yet.
The Axe still remains in one piece, though I've only flown it for a couple weeks now. ;)

I ordered $90.00 in parts from tower so I won't have alot of down time. My friend has a small venom that he is trying to learn to hover with and it kills him when I hover the axe and it's steady. So now he is going to order one from tower today. He really has the bug now.

Man, I was doing some Fast FF outside, but noticed I didn't have all of my orientations down. I could fly 90 degrees to my self, and nost-in, but not in between those orientations. Besure you still take tome to practice all the way around in a hover. Its easy to get suckered into the next thing (pirouettes, forward, backward, funnels) but if you practice all your orientations, you'll be a much better pilot and will be able to get out of any unusual circumstances.

All the way around, and then start forward flight.
