AXE CP Head Vibration Problems

Hey all

I am really confused about a lot of things about the Axe CP. I can spin up the head with no blades on but when I put the blades on I cannot spin the head up without the heli violently shaking. I have replaced the main shaft, the whole head assembly and all that but still cannot find the problem. Blades are brand new and as far as I can tell they are balanced. So what do I check now? I bought this thing to go flying with not to look at. If anyone could help I would sure appericate it.

Thanks
tom

There could be a couple of things...

The first is if the introduction of blades to the system causes vibrations then you may need to recheck if they're really balanced. You said they're balanced "as far as you can tell", so I'm not sure if it's by inspection or going through that tedious process to check them. Check [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5739582/tm.htm]this link[/link] for options on blade balancing.

The second could be that it's happening on a smaller scale and when you're spinning up without the blades you can't see them but the blades (even though are perfectly balanced) are amplifying the effect. At the moment, I'm investigating my ball bearings for this very reason. I just got back from the hobby store with new ball bearings and will be installing them soon. I'm confident this will fix my problem so I'll let you know if it's applicable for yours.

I'll let other people chime in now...

Thanks for the info s mcflurry, after futher review of this problem the answer lies in the rotor shaft. Replaced with a good one and all is well.:) I got a good 10 minute flight outside after testing everthing in the house. Anyway like I said good flight but a bad landing as my hands were getting too shakey on the controls[:@]. I brought the heli down but a little bit too hard and dented the canopy and broke a push rod other then that everything else seems ok. Still needs to be trimmed out some more.

I love this heli a lot [sm=thumbs_up.gif][sm=shades_smile.gif]

more to come later.

RE: AXE CP Head Vibration Problems

Just something to think about when looking for vibration problems and blade tracking. My heli started to vibrate again after no changes. The tracking was a little off also. Knowing I hadn't changed anything and hadn't crashed, I tweaked one fly bar paddle a little up and the other down. Must have picked the right one, cause the problems reduced back to normal. Its not perfect, but good enough.

The flybar paddles will change the blade tracking and therefore the vibrations.
