AXE CP Help............Please
 

Finished putting back together my AXE CP tonight. I installed a DX6, and did a few other upgrades. I went to bench test it, and while I increased the throttle she didn't wan to lift. I held the skids and at full throttle it had no lift. The rotor is spinning in the right direction, and the leading edge of the blades are facing the right way. It looks like the ccpm is not advancing, and the servos are only moving a little bit. I put the whole thing back together the way I took it apart, so I don't think that is the problem. I did take the sevo arms off and set them all to the neutral position. I did this by powering the helli, and turning on the TX and letting them all settle. Thats when I took the servo arms off and put them all to neutral thinking that they were all off a bit. Can someone help I want to get this thing up in the air...Thanks Zen

The ball link on the blade grips goes towards the rear or trailing edge of the blades. If you copy the exploded diagram, it shows the ball links to the front of the blade which is wrong. The swashplate moves down with power which lowers the trailing edge and increases pitch. Lots of guys have made this mistake on here.

Zen I don't have a DX6 so I don't know how to adjust that radio, but it sounds to me like the problem is in the programming. I would check around to see who else is using one so you can see how they set up their pitch rates and curves. Good Luck!

I Looked at all the posts w/Axe/dx6. The way people have thier ccpm set up makes my heli flip over befor it takes off. Its so friggin fustrating..............................Z

Well that shouldn't happen Zen. Have you checked operation of collective and cyclic. With the motors disconnected does everything work properly. The collective should pull down evenly and the cyclic should work smoothly. If everything is working right it could be the stick sensitivity.

I used a fellow poster's settings with my 7C to get started. I noticed that the controls were so numb compared to the stock set up I couldn't control the heli at first. It needed such exaggerated stick movements. My heli briefly rolled too just like your saying because I didn't give it enough cyclic at first to prevent tail rotor drift then I gave it too much. This lead quickly into a dynamic rollover condition. It doesn't take much. I readjusted my rates after that and it was much better. I actually like sensitive cyclic controls.

Your best bet is to dust off the stock Tx and see if you still have the same problem.

Ahem...
Lets disconnect the motor wires for this.

Power everything up and throw it into idle up.
Move the collective stick upwards, the swash plate should move downwards.
When you move the collective stick down the swash should move upwards.
Is it moving in the opposite direction?
If it is you have to go into the mix CCP menu in the radio.
Goto the CP6 option and reverse the value, if its +50 then move it down until it's -50. That'll correct the swash movement.
Make sure that CP2 and CP3 are exact opposites, ie: +50 and -50.
Once you get all the servos moving in the right direction use CP6 to increase/decrease your pitch range.

Cool the advise you gave me on the ccpm worked....On to other problems. I tried to center the servo arms, but as soon as I reverse my elv and ail, they get all off center, and start to bind. When you use the ele are the two rear sevos supposed to move also? It seems when I make any adjustment all the other adjustments I made get screwed up. HELP..............

Crapped out, broke the ball link on the swash. This sucks, I f$#%&ing give up.....................
