securing Lipo battery to Axe CP

Hi,

i've got some MegaPower 1350 Lipo batteries that i use in my Axe, but have figured out i'm causing a problem with them:

(see the attached photos)

without the spacer, i think i might have the rubber band holding the battery in too tight, as it pushes the motor, and causes the drive gear to come away from the main gear, so it doesn't mesh properly. Although i dont really want to do it any looser, the battery would move around then.

i've put a bit of balsa wood as a spacer, but the battery doesn't sit quite right.

So my question - how do you secure the battery to the model? does anyone else use these MegaPower 1350's, and can send photos?

thanks!

I use a piece of cardboard at the motor end of the battery and wrap the whole thing with Velcro. See attached. This works great unless you are using an out runner brush less motor. The Velcro will interfere with the motor.

Either way you look at it you're probably going to have to use some kind of spacer because that battery reaches way down in there. I've actually got a piece of really thin cardboard covering a bar I cut out from an old axe cp frame and I super glued it on one side so it kinda flaps open if I need it to. Anyway, as you can see from my pictures my battery leans a bit forward too. I've found that with more rubberbands it straightens up a bit. I've also cut out a slot on the bottom of my canopy and I think it helps with making the whole thing fit. Anyway, from what I can see from your pictures, an easy solution would be to keep that brace there and add another one on top of the battery near the bottom end, and that should do the trick.
