cp and cp3
Is the cp and cp3 parts compatable. I bought a cp on ebay turns out to have more problems than its worthhttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...sappointed.gif So I bought a new cp3 from tower so I am wondering if all the parts from the cp that I got would work on the new one?
|
RE: cp and cp3
90% of the parts are compatable, all except for the tail section. The v1 used a reduction gear drive on the tail, where as the v3 is direct drive. But the main gear, main shaft, bearings & rotor head componets are all the same.

RE: cp and cp3
The head is a bell hiller on the cpv3 vs the old cp non bell hiller so some of the head parts will work but not all of them.

poison, I think the 3 in 1 board is also different. The v3 has a built in lipo protection module. I'm a big fan of the geared tail. You may find your tail motor on the v3 gets very hot & it may fail after just a few flights due to the direct drive. I'd consider remounting the tail motor with an Align boom mount servo bracket. You can use direct drive even with the geared tail bracket.I've posted some pics a few pages back showing the bracket with a geared tail. There are quite a number of things you can do to make the Axe a reliable flyer, but one I strongly suggest is to smear a layer of household glue over the tail motor wires, capacitor wires and terminals so that the metal terminals are held firmly in place by the glue. If you don't, the wires and capacitor will vibrate the terminals and, along with heat which softens the plastic, the terminals will come loose, which allows the brushes to get loose, and end of tail motor. Happy flying! JEM
|

RE: cp and cp3
The 3 in 1's are completely compatable up or down between the v2 / v3 revisions (v1 was NiMH) The LiPo protection module (LPM) is not required for flight. However if you are not able to monitor recharge current to determine appropriate flight times, thenthe LPMcan help extend battery life by preventing over-discharge.

RE: cp and cp3
all right guys thanks for all the info I broke one of my grips off the other day tryied to put the old ones on that I had, but had no luck. It lifts off the ground but don't seem to have much controls hard to fly, so I orded some new ones at my hobby shop, can't fly anyway been windy and rainy pretty much all year here in Arkansas! I am ready for some nice flying weather.
