Loss of fuel pressure
Which is usually caused by loss of fuel[:'(] . So I had a rather untimely meeting with tera ferma today with my Shuttle Z. It wasnt too bad, bent boom, broken mixing arm, broken ball link, broken fin set, but no real damage to the rotors. I will NOT be using this set of rotors again even though they seem to be perfectally intact. So my question is will a header tank help to prevent such an incident or should I just put a timer on my radio and forget about pushing it that close to empty? Also are there some things that I should upgrade while it is down (hopefully less than a week)? Also (again) seince im not doing aerobatics yet Im sticking to wood blades, are these any good or too good to be true http://www.heliproz.com/prodinfo.asp?number=803400 . I guess I should be happy that they still make parts for a 15+ year old bird, but being a college students budget this is gonna hurt.

RE: Loss of fuel pressure
I have a set of those. They fly fine, only problem I had is the plastic came off after about 20 flights. Now I fly without the plastic. I have a header tank on mine, its like having a gas gauge on the side. Once you get it going, maybe start practicing those autos...hover autos are the best way to start learning them. Make sure you have at least 3 degrees negative when your collective is down first though. Good luck.

RE: Loss of fuel pressure
Well, I now have over $150 worth of parts in my cart LOL. Thanks for the tip on autos, but I think I was too low to even attempt one (about 5'). Mavrick has a header tank for $17 so Im gonna try that. I also find it interesting that the rotors for my CPP are only $1 cheaper than the ones for the .30.

RE: Loss of fuel pressure
mtahobbies.com has a header tank for the raptor that is cheaper I think. BTW 5 feet and below is a great height to practice hover autos. If I knew how to work my camera I could post a video of some.

RE: Loss of fuel pressure
Good to know, I guess I will have to put in some sim time tomorow at work, LOL. My final total was over $180, but I bought a few upgrades and parts for the CP. I should have enough parts to rebuild it twice now, but I hope I dont have to. I also got the mavrick patriot rotors, too pretty and cheap to pass up.
