Hirobo/GMP Legend
Does anyone have any info on these helis?
Thanks |
RE: Hirobo/GMP Legend
I had (still do) a GMP Legend in flybarless and pro-head versions. They had a belt drive tail which was really powerful for its time since most others were using a 2mm wire drive that would wind up. The Legend had wooden servo frames and very simple linkages from the servos to the levers.
It had two main side frames of the older bent style construction and had the classic Hirobo octagon tail boom. I paid $425 for mine when new. Many of the parts were Hirobo and several others were manufactured by GMP. The flybarless design was pretty good and highly maneuverable. The heli used 620mm main blades - I used a semi-symmetrical fiberglass blade. Gearing was 8.8:1 as I recall. Chris. |

Thanks for the info.
Do you know if anyone still manufactuers replacement parts for them? I found an unassembled kit with a brand new O.S. Max 61RF-H in my garage and was debating weather on assemblying it or selling it and purchasing something a bit more current. |
