An Optima 9?
A small amount of the 9's won't update for whatever reason. You only need to update it if you plan to use the add on telemetry though, the built in battery telemetry will still work fine without the update. You'll need to contact the service deptartment and we'll figure out the best way to get you taken care of if you need it updated. - Mike.

Is this an Optima 9 receiver? You will need to contact the distributor in your area to get it replaced if it is.

Yes it is a Optima 9 receiver. I live outside the U.S guys,i will use it as long as it's safe and there is nothing to worry about.
The next time i have a friend traveling to the U.S i will make plan to have it sent back
thanks for your help

It's safe to use. The software update for the receiver is only so the add on telemetry sensor station will work with the receiver.
