Default I have a servo question , Mike....

Hello Mike,
I am going to build a Dynaflight Fly Baby. I have been buying HS 605BB for other planes.
I ran across a listing for a HS 475HB servo. It has 61 oz. torque at 4.8 volts. It said, "made for boats and cars". I couldn't see any specification differences. Will this servo be OK in a plane??
Tower has them at about $17 compared to $30 for the 605's.
Thanks........lownslo

It is a great choice. Where did it say it was for boats and cars only?

Mike.

4* 60 is right... that is where I saw this in Tower's tech talk on this servo. See next paragraph copied and pasted from their web page on this servo.

FEATURES: Four heavy duty resin gears Top ball bearing Designed for R/C boats, gas or electric cars.

I didn't not see airplanes listed.. so I didn't know for sure.
Thanks guys.......lownslo.....

No, it was designed for aircraft as is the digital version the 5475HB but they could be used in cars and boats too.

It's not like you can't use any servo in any application as long as the specs are right.

Mike.

Default Thanks!

Thanks Mike,
I was 98% sure it would be OK.... but it doesn't hurt to ask if in any doubt. I am probably going to start using the 475's instead of the 425BB's from now on. (although... I am trading off the loss of one BB race for more touque....it is priced reasonably)....... lownslo...

You won't notice the difference from the dual bearing to the single.
