MIKE, NEED HELP........Eclipse 7 won't work
I just purchased a new Eclipse 7 radio system. I opened it and hooked everything up correctly and the servos will not respond, they glitch when the reciever is turned on as normal but moving the sticks has no effect on them. I doubled checked the crystal connections and battery power, everything is good and tight. While trying to get it working I noticed the module on the back of the transmitter was hot to the touch. I am sending this radio system back to HITEC today so you should receive shortly.

MIKE, NEED HELP........Eclipse 7 won't work
Yes, I had a fellow flyer with the same exact radio walk me thru all the setups. Everything appeared to be correctly set. Anyhow due to the fact that the module on the transmitter became hot I figured I should not bother with it any further. I sent it out to HITEC today for repair.
Thanks for the reply.

It is normal for the module to get warm to very warm especially if the antenna is down when setting up the plane. We'll take care of it though. Sorry for the problem.

MIKE, NEED HELP........Eclipse 7 won't work
For the info of other fliers I measured my radio and spectra module. The temps were measured with a laser thermometer , and after 7 min of on time. Inside the shop the case of the radio was 68 and the module 94 when the ant is down, no difference when up. Outside on a 75 degree day the case was 81 (soaks up heat from the sun) and the module was 110 again with the ant down, 81 and 83 with ant up. So I guess only keep the ant down when doing the range check and up at all other times, a little awkward when doing some of the programing but something you have to live with , not hard with this great radio.
