5475 Failure
One of 5475's failed today and caused my plane to crash. It went to full deflection on one aileron and locked. My GP patty wagstaff extra is a bunch of splinters now. Any idea why Mike?

Sorry to hear about the problem. There is no way to know without looking at the servo. What were you using to power it? Did you use a regulator? Did you have servo extensions?

5475 Failure
I was using a 4.8v 2700 mah nimh battery. No regulator, one 18" MPI 22 gauge extension. I had been flying the plane everyday this week and it was doing really good. I was using a hitec eclipse radio with the pcm reciever. all of my radio equipment is hitec. after the plane crashed, I noticed that one aileron was stuck down and would not move with the reciever on or off. All other controls functioned properly. I haven't worked any of the servos hard, i was just flying around in circles trying to get used to the plane.

RE: 5475 Failure
Sorry again about the problem. That all sounds good but you say that after the crash the servo was locked; could you tell for sure that the servo locked in the air?

RE: 5475 Failure
Yes, I definitely had an aileron control problem. The plane had no damage to the wings, they never hit the ground. everything forward of the wings was destroyed. When i walked up to the plane, everything worked perfectly except the left aileron. I tried to move it with my hand but it was stuck down.

RE: 5475 Failure
I guess I should send the servos in to be looked at. i had a 5475 on each aileron and 5625's on elevator & rudder. I'm gonna send the 2 5475 servos in to be checked. Is it going to take 3 weeks to get these looked at? I just got my eclipse back from service and it was there 3 weeks.
