Hitec H 4 battery charger - charging batteries with internal circuits

I have a new H 4 charger. The instructions state not to charge batteries with internal circuits. I also have A123 packs ( Fromeco ) which have the internal circuits. It would appear that I can't use this charger with these packs. Is this correct ? If so I would be disappointed a sophisticated charger can't differentiate between those packs with / without internal circuits.

That's what the instructions say alright. It makes sense. The charger can't see the cells through the internal circuits, thus it won't know when to shut down, etc.
