Mike,

I have 5965MG, 5625MG, and 5645MG servos that need to have the gear sets replaced. I would like to change these over to the karnonite gears, if that is possible. Please advise if Hitec has replacement karbonite gear sets for these servos.

My understanding is the Karbonite gear-train CANNOT directly replace the currently available metal geared digital servos gear-train. This information is direct from Hitec's Service Department.

Thanks for the quick response!

I have 5 metal geared digitals with with fairly low time, and they have more play/slop in the gears than I would like to see. I was hoping to put them back in service with a new gear-train, but I'm not sure I want to spend the money on replacement gears unless I can expect a little more durability.

Send the servos into Hitec for evaluation. If the gears appear to be worn prematurly, service may take care of them for you. Hitec is well known for offering above and beyond customer care...

I may take your suggestion and contact Hitec Service. I honestly wouldn't expect a free ride, the servos have been sitting in a box for over a year.

It's worth the cost of shipping to have the software upgraded to the latest version and given a clean bill of health if nothing else. I would just send them in, irregardless of what is discussed with service personnel. Just include a note about your concerns and wait...
