I notice the ch 7 switch seems to have no effect on ch7 control is the sole purpose
of the switch to control pmix 1&2 ? if so why is it called ch7 switch ?

The switch is utilized in the Heli mode only. In Acro or Glider mode the VR-2 knob is the 7th channel.
