Default Hitec 5945 hunting for center position !!!

I have a new Hitec 5945 (About 40 flights) on the elevator.

Lately, I have noticed that it keeps moving up and down around the neutral position like a barn door.

There is quite a bit of deflection on the elevator.

I think it does this even in the air.

TIA.

Sorry for the delay in this responce.

Try testing the servo in another slot in the receiver to make sure, but it sounds like there is a problem so the best thing to do is send it back so we can check it out.

Mike.

I've had other servos exhibit that behavior. Turned out to be either cheap extensions, or a faulty extension. Maybe before you go through the trouble of taking your plane apart, try something like that if you can.
Let me know what you find.
It's getting towards the end of the flying season and we don't want to miss any of it, do we

I have the 5945 on my rudder and I've noticed that I have to retrim the rudder every time I turn on my receiver.

This unusual, please elaborate on the need. Do you relaize the need in the air or on the ground by a visual refefence?

Cables or hard connections?

What TX?

Mike, I notice it by sighting down the rudder from the front of the plane. It's on my Funtana and the counter balance portion of the rudder is sometimes a 1/4" out of trim. This servo locked up about 5 minutes after I first activated it and sent it in for service.

Mike, I just checked my servo, it's a 5975

I have had faulty servo extensions before. I had a cheap Futaba servo go nuts because of this.

However, all my extension wires especially for the large gas planes are heavy gauge with gold-plated extensions.

I would still plug the servo in some other channel to test. You are right about the shortage of time and don't want to ground a plane for 2 weeks

The rudder servo is doing the same...
I don't know if loading the servo in flight will cause the problem to stop....

The real test of if there is a problem is in actual flight conditions. Do you need to re-trim on a regular basis?

Mike.
