Default Digital Hitec servo conpatibility with Airtronics?

I recently purchased a Hitec HS5645MG servo(digital). Read in the 'Special Warning for Digital Servos" that came with it, that plugging in this type servo into the 'old Airtronic(Sanwa) receiver will blow up the servo ckt.
Is it because of the reverse polarity set-up of this receiver(which can be corrected with the use of a 'Z' adapter) or .......
I need techies expert knowledge and/first hand experience out there (before I hook it up and maybe burn up a brand new servo... or not?)
Thanks for all responses.
Alex

It will cause dammage to both the receiver and servo if you have an only style Airtronic connector receiver.

Default Hitec Digital to Old Airtronics

Hi MIke, Thanks for the response. I am wondering though if the servo ckt burnout is due to the reverse voltage of the old Airtronics or the nature of the signal output of this receiver? As for the reverse polarity, I'm using coreless with the Z adapter and do not have any problems... so far. Can I do the same with this digital?

Default Hitec Digital to Old Airtronics

Thanks Mike for quick response. I was referring to the circuit board in the servo itself.
I'm starting to notice a lot of squack about these new digital servos (mine's tagged Mar02) having problems such as locking up at full throw or movement not corresponding to transmitter commads. Do these have something to do with 'servo programming' whatever that means? What benefit does it give to get the program?

You have the latest program in those servos so you should use them with confidence.

Mike.
