I have 2 full sets of HS 605BB's that are not being used at the moment. I have a couple of planes that need servos with more durability than the 605's offer.
Is it possible to simply replace the gears in my 605's with gears for the 625MG/645MG? That would be a great way to save some cash and make use of some older gear I have sitting around.

Mike,
What were the specs on the 605MG? I can't seem to find them.
I was really wondering if I could use the 645 gears as I want the extra torque for a rudder application.

The 645's require a different case. The 615 gear-set #56399 should work.
Ther are some specifications for servo parts listed at hitecrcd.com.
Select " Products", then the "Servos" tab and then select "servo parts" for a listing.
