Default digital servo failsafe

Mike or mglavin, or anybody,
Please exlain how the failsafe works in the digital servos. Besides loosing power at the TX, can they detect a scrambled signal as caused from interference?

Default RE: digital servo failsafe

Any corrupted signal from the receiver will trigger the fail safe (strong interference, lost tx signal).

OK that's great Tony. How long will they stay in failsafe? Until the signal is good?
Do they work similar to a regular PCM RX, eg. use the last good signal for a certain amount of time before going into failsafe? Without getting too technical, how do they determine a corrupted signal? Thanx
