Default 5945 beeping

This is my first digital servo, using it for steering on a Savage. I have heard that it may make a clicking noise as it is trying to recenter itself. But mine is beeping, sounds almost like Morse code. Is this normal? The guy at the hobby store hasn't heard one do this. It appears to function fine.

I have a digital Hs-5945 also in a very large scale aircraft . I too am new at digitals. I bought it for the
torque and centering capability. However I am not happy with the " beeping " can i disable the sound ?
Can it be programmed to not beep? If so i wasted $90 because this sounds ridiculous in a scale aircraft.
Its very loud. I love the performance but do not like it beeping. Sounds like my castle creations
pheonix speed control for my foamy

What surface is the digital servo attached too? You can minimize the noise with proper linkage adjustments and elimination of all binding, BUT if the servo is supporting a load the buzzzzzzz is here to stay for the most part. The buzzzzzzz is the servo attempting to obey commanded position from the TX 300-400 times a second it reacts to control input. This is how all digital servos work.

Michael , thanks for the reply, but im not talking about buzzing or a humm sound. That is normal with all servos.
I am referring to a loud beep. A beep like u would get from an electronic speed control * beep * beep not buzzzz
or humming. It only beeps when i give it input, right or left. This servo is on the rudder of an r/c airplane and is
a pull pull cable system. There are other threads where others complain about beeping as well

In a pull-pull installation you should not realize the buzzing and as you noted it appears once a control input is garnered. Your beep is the buzzzz I describe I'm sure. It’s the nature of the beast; digital servos beep or buzz resisting loads. Additionally if your pull-pull is setup incorrectly and is loading the cables when moved off center the noise is expotential.

If the buzz is intolerable you can reprogram the dead-band for less noise. Hitec will do this for you free of charge or someone with a programmer can as well. Some Hobby Shops have a programmer available for customers to use in house.
