The button to the right of the left hand stick is your throttle trim. Usually by pushing it at the top, it is the same as the trim tab on other radios. When you push it at the bottom, it brings your trim down. You can adjust the throw for the throttle by going into the EPA selection and choosing 3 for throttle. Then you use the right hand "Aileron" trim to change the amount of throw for the throttle.
Make sure that your radio is in NOR mode. If not, you need to read the manual to change the mode as I have done it a few times. If you are still having trouble, I'll try and help you understand the manual and what each setting is for.

The throttle trim will only work when the throttle stick is in the lower position. If you are at full throttle (stick anywhere above the mid point) then the trim will not work. Also the trim does not work like the other trims in that it is one sided -- 0% to -50% as opposed to +50% to -50%. Does this help?

Tony, I also notice that the E7/O6 throttle trim doesn't work with some settings of the flight mode/condition switch.
To trim the throttle I have to return the switch to the NORM position -- not always convenient when you're actually flying
Why's that?

That is how the radios are designed. Normally when you use the flight conditions, you don't want the throttle to be at low idle. At least that was the thinking behind it.

Don't get me wrong I am no expert on this. I was setting up my P51 throttle had the same problem I think it has something to do with EPA I got mine to working but it got to do with set up. I don't know how I did it but it works now . It took me awhileto do it.
Hope this will help somehow.
