Default Karbonite Gears?

How would you rate the karbonite gears in strength?

Titanium
Metal
Karbonite
nylon
??????

Are the karbonite as strong as metal and smoother? What are the benifits of
Karbonite?

Thanks

V

Default RE: Karbonite Gears?

Fun2Fly3D,

I am not sure how Hitec will rate them, but from my experience they are much stronger than Nylon, but I doubt stronger than metal. The advantage they do have, is that ofter about 100hrs of use in my plane, the Karbonite gears are still as tight as the day I bought them. Any metal gear servos I have purchased show significant slop after this amount of time.

The Karbonite gears are between the Nylon and Metal gears. They are about 4 times stronger than nylon but not nearly as strong as metal. The great thing about them is that they have extremely high wear resistance so that after a few hundred flights, they will be as tight as when they were first bought.
