Default Hitec 5945 question

I just bought 5 -5945s from a friend of mine. They all seem to work ok but I know a while back there were some problems with these servos. These have March 02 on them, and I wondered if I should send them in for any updates or checkups. Obviously the last thing I want is a failure that might lead to a crash. Thanks!

v1.03 revision servos dated MAR 02 are well proven. However for peace of mind package them up and return them to Hitec for a look see. Explain your concern and ask to have the program RESET of each servo.

When you get them back, work them. I recommend burning all electronics in on the bench or in the model for at least fifteen minutes prior to flight...

Michael,

Thanks for the reply. If these were your servos, would you use them or would you first send them in? Also, about how much would it cost to have them gone through? Thanks again

Likely no charge for the checkup. If there is a problem your Technician will personally contact you and discuss charges if any.

If I didn't own a programmer to RESET them I would have them checked out by Hitec Service.

Thanks again, Michael. I think I will send them in. Can you direct me to the address that I need to send them to?

I have 2 5945s from 2001. Shall I send them in for an update? What would be the benefits?

Joe
