Mike,
I had purchased 6635 karbonite servos for my Funtana 90 last year after reading they would be great for it. I have since read they are not up to the task do to potential flutter. I am still planning on using the 6635's on the tail surfaces. I also have 6985 servos that I had purchased for a 33% plane but they are no longer recommended for giant scale., Would the 6985's be ok on the ailerons or should I return them and get metal gears? I will have properly setup linkages and I will be running a Webra two cycle glow engine.
I don't want to lose this plane do to the gears.
Thanks,
Brian

We don't suggest using the Karbonites in large gas powered models as a rule. We've found the demands are far greater than the Karbonite can handle. On the same note there many modelers using them in multiples or pairs on 33-40% models without issue.
The Karbonites are not replacements for metal geared servos, if the manufacturer of your model suggests metal geared servos I would abide by their recommendations.
I'd suggest exchanging the servos for metal geared units.
