Optic 6 setup questions?
#1

Has any of you guys that own this radio been able to link flaps when deployed with down elevator trim? I can't see anything in the manual about it (it does have down flap with up elevator, to aid in pylon racing tight turns), and also, I haven't been able to set the flaps throw without affecting the neutral or off position, is this the only way to set the throw thus having to adjust the neutral position at the servo wheel and/or pushrod linkage?
One other thing that I don't understand is why the right lever on the side of the transmiter also moves the flaps, although just a small amount?
Any replies will be greatly appreciated.

I don't think it is possible to link the flaps to the elevator trim. At least no way I have found. If there is anyone more Optic savvy out there, please pipe in. I use the Evo mostly, but I talked to one of the pilots here and he seems to think its not possible. As for the flap neutral, does this: First set the flap trim to 0%. Once at 0%, connect your horn and linkage to the servo. No make sure both side sliders are either all the way up or down. This depends on preference, but they both should be in the same position. Now add a percentage to the flap trim. You might want to start a 50% and go down from there.
The right slide is the flap trim, and the left slider controls the full flap travel. So whatever you set the flap trim to; that's how much the right slider will move the flaps.

Does this only apply to seperate flaps?
I can't seem to get a consistant setting for flapperons with my optic. Seems the only way to have flapperons/spoilerons is try to center the right lever to get neutrel in flight which is nearly impossible....
can you elaborate on how to set flapperons/spoilerons to be controlled with the lever and still find neutrel? even if you can only use one type at a time like only flapperons, or only spoilerons...
i would even be happy if i could set flapperons on a switch, everytime i try to use a mix on the right side switch, i get the flaps right, but i loose contol of one of the servos..... and only one aileron turns in normal mode with the mix set....
help please?

The easiest way is to use the sliders for your flap function. Set the neutral point so the slider is either full up or full down. Then use the Landing function (switch) for the spoileron. Just make sure that the flaps are back to neutral before using the landing function.
