I have a 3030 about 5 or 6 years old that I have a consistent problem with - I can't recall if I have always had the issue, but it has been there for atleast the last 3 seasons... First, I have several airplanes with several brnads of RX - I have a MX IPD 12 CH RX, I have 2 Hitec Mini 5's, I have several brands of FMA and one JR RX (I don't recall which JR) - I have 5245's, 5945's and the new 5995 - Here's what happens:
I have the issue with all RX's in all airplanes.
First, the Rudder Issue:
1. The rudder servo center searches a bit (about 1 mm total) (Only the rudder servo does this - no other channel/surface)
2. Note - The rudder servo is not in a consistent channel in all airplanes - some CH 3 some CH 2 - no difference
3. When Rudder full deflected to one side (one side only I can't remember which side) I get the same "search" behavior as at center - happens on all airplanes on - some have rudder on different channles as specified above...
Also Note - I have the Hitec Servo prgrammer and have tightened up the deadband to "2" but no difference... I have tried "1" deadband, but no difference
Next, the "glitching" Issue
1. When I put the TX on the ground (only on the ground) and only at a ceartain distance from the aircraft (again all airplanes) - I get glitches where all servos will wiggle and jump and dance around - this happens when the TX is placed on the ground at abot 3 feet from the airplanes - again, only happens when TX is placed on the ground
All airplanes range check just fine - no range issues with antenna fully collapsed - no jitters
2. When flying, at a specified range and a specified height (about 40 yards out and about 20 feet high - fairly low and far out) I will get the same apparent jitters for about one second as the airplane flys through this "predictable" bad space (very consistent and predictable "space" at a certain DX and a certain height)... Happens with ALL airplanes and all RX's mentioned above.
Finally, if I grab my antenna to reorient it when flying through this "weird space" (as described above) - the jitters and jumping are exagerated and the aircraft, instead of a mild "wiggle" can lurch and twist pretty violently... I have grabbed my antenna base as described here to reorient it because when this first started to happen, I thought to myself "Oh, my antenna must be pointing at the ground or too low," and I have attempted to raise the antenna... This is so predictable that I no longer "touch" the antenna when flying.
Thoughts?
Thank you, Dan

I have a 3030 and only thing I can think of is that rudder gimbal pot is mallfunctioning, wear perhaps. For other issues have look at www.rcgroups.com, there are more MPX related threads.

That you are getting glitches at different points on the compass could mean the module has a fault somewhere. I would suggest you contact Ernie Pritchard to have the radio looked at especially if it has been a few years since its last check up. His contact info can be found on our website.
