Default QPCM receiver and dual battery plugs

I have a new Hitec QPCM receiver that says that it supports dual batteries. Could someone explain this feature to me?

1. If I have 2 identical 2100mah batteries plugged in. do I get a total of 4200mah?
2. How does it select which battery to draw its power from?
3. If one battery malfunctions and goes dead, does it drain the good battery?

Thanks,
Dave

There is nothing exactly special about the slots. It just allows you to use batteries and all seven channels at the same time and increase total battery capacity (parallel circuit). That is why both batteries must be identical.

Depending on how the battery malfunctions, it may or may not drain the other. A short circuit could damage the other battery, but a loose connection wouldn't.

Ok, that is what I was thinking. What happens if, for example, I forget to charge one of the batteries but I charge the other one? Will the one that I forgot to charge discharge the charged one? Or does the receiver switch to the one that is charged.

Thanks again,

Dave

Finally! I have the same question and I too am looking for this answer. Does the dual battery slots act as a dual redundent system? Does it draw from the stronger battery or equally from both regardless of their condition?

It draws equally from both battery ports.

Ssssoooo, the rx slot and DSC slot are nothing more than a marketing ploy as you can hook battery packs into any servo port on any rx and it will draw equally as well. Yes?

If you have open channels you could use them in the same manner or you could plug a "Y" harnesses into a channel and your batteries into it but that is just more wiring to deal with. The DSC portion on the one battery port was for something else though.
