I've asked this question many times and nobody can give me a straight answer.. I have 3 hitec radios ..2 flash 5's, one with 3 models and the new one with 5 models and a new laser 6 channel, with I really like also..
I was wondering if you can change the crystals in the transmitter to match the reciever like you can the other way around. some say they have done it and works fine, others don't know.. yada yada.... or do you have to get them tuned .
If not , why one way and not the other. is it a marketing ploy???
confused...

The transmitter crystals cannot be changed without re-tuning as per the FCC and AMA. The reason is that an out of tune radio can interfere with other sytems on adjacent channels. The receiver is a differenct story since it accepts the signal, not sends it out.
