Default Substitute for HS5925MG

Hi,

It appears that the HS-5925MG servo is discontinued (at least in Tower Hobbies)... is it really discontinued?
Which servo is the one that replaces it?

Your help is really appreciated

Yes it is discontinued now. The replacement (updated) models are:

5925mg--> 5965mg
5945mg--> 5985mg
925mg--> 965mg
945mg--> 985mg

Spec wise the replacement models are almost identical with the updated feature being that the new servos have a bushing support in the top case for the gear shafts.

Thanks for the prompt reply,

I also noticed that the deadband for the 5925MG is 1┬Ásec whereas in the new 5965MG it is 2┬Ásec.

Is this better or worse? Is it a big deal?

Thanks again.

It would be slightly tighter on the older servo but you probably wouldent be able to tell any difference when using the servo. You wont be able to tell any difference until you get to a larger difference in deadband. If there were a 5-6 ┬Ásec difference then you may be able to start to feel a difference.

The higher deadband will not be noticed in flight but your gears should last a lot longer.
