Default HS-5975HB FELURE AND ALMOST CRASH

so here i go!

this is my 46% ultimate just had the maiden
on ailerons where 8 HS-5975HB ...2 per aileron

always on proper throtle managmend control i just give it a circle cince my 150da is not broke in yet

and i see 2 linkages hanging down!!

i emediatly aborth the ride ,ask for runway clear and land

geting buck home and check the servos where all cracked at the last gear where the control horn is attached

and now i learn that the old srcews dont go deep so this is why the felure in carbon gears
and hitec gives new longer screws for free

i like to know if hitec will cover me with new spear gear sets

...lucky me i now dont ask for the all plane!

all my servos in all my prop planes and jets are hitec!wich for me are the best.and i think this is an exeption
im just sad becouse of the felure...

sorry for my bad english

best regards

Wow, that is scary. Glad you got her down ok. Although I don't think you should be using a Karbonite gear servo on control surfaces in that size of plane. I would say you need metal or titanium geared servos on all your control surfaces.

hey smarks!....well yes it was litle scary when on flybuy i saw the links hanging...but 4 ailerons are efective!so no promblem on landing!

hitec servos are great! and carbonite gears are very strong with almost none play!

the felure is not becouse of the material of the gear!or the gear it self!
but the lenth of the screw that holds the arm on the gear!

my poor english dont let me explane how the strenth is devide...but becouse of the sort screw provided with the servo
part of the screw hole in the gear wasent full but emry so this coused a week spot

thanx for the suport friend![&o]...i wait for the hitec now...

Yes, I do understand the screw issue. I had a couple Karbonite geared servos fail several years ago and am hesitant to use them anymore. But good luck and hope you get it worked out. I do agree, Hitec servos are excellent. I use them pretty much exclusively.

By the way, you have one beautiful plane my friend!

big planes are big pain in the bat

....but when i fly it ...it worths all the money and time!

this planes are the only rc worht to have smaler size dont act good in the air thats the trouuth.

and when you taste them there is no turn back....wors than drugs...

i remember i was trying the roling harier and never got it right ad with this one i can roling harier all day long...
the best sizes are 50cc gas and 150cc gas 100cc are heavy becouse of the setup and servos and dont act well

Hitec says not to use the Karbonite gear servos on anything bigger than 12 lbs. Making the problem worse people use thread lock on the plastic weakening it, and Hitec supplied screws that were too short. Sorry, but a plane with a 150 in it should have metal gears. Maybe Hitec will give you a good deal on the 5985 servos.

sir this felure is not on the gears in the servos.but on the output lust shaft.

the only felure servos have from blow buck sufrace or flater is by destroying the teeth of the internal gears

in my case gears never streesed and are intact!in perfect contition!swiching to metal will change nothink.

the shaft comes out from the servo broke . and this is coused by the short screw

if the screw is long and go all the way in the shaft then it wouldnt brake.

this planes need proper throtle managment.and with the da150 i can rip off any metal servo gears.

so you must know how to fly it.

im not complane about internal gear felure.that this would be my fult.
i am complane about the whrong screw provided and cosed this felure.

again my pure inglish dont let me express my self so give me a brake here.
i try to say i can put this servo to my 60ucando and couse the same promblem becouse of the short screw.

com on hitec where are you

Sorry to hear of your incident but with respect you are being a little precipitant.
1. Hitec RCD USA could not respond as quickly as you wish. Like many other similar businesses around the world, Hitec USA office closes on Saturdays and Sundays. One should not expect a response to inquiries made on any newsgroups between mid Friday USA Pacific time - Monday mornings until sometime later on Monday afternoon USA Pacific time.
Refer Timezone converter to match the time/day in your country.
2. When and where from did you buy those old servos? as first place of redress is usually from the retailer (and through them the distributor) from whom the servos were purchased in your own country. Hitec Service & Support Information anmd service form
FWIW the short servo horn screw problem was widely published and corrected some time ago. A quick search listed more than the (first) three following current notices:
Hobbyhorse notice re short Karbonite Servo Screws

George- Sorry to hear about the problem. Unfortunately, Hitec USA does not support your country. You would need to contact:

RUBERKON
11,13 Deligiani Str. 151 22 Maroussi, Greece
Phone# 30-1802-1801 Fax# 30-1802-3011
[email protected]

I also would suggest you switch to metal geared servos for that model.

Typically gears are not covered under warranty but it is up to the agent as to what they may or may not cover.

There are several agents in many countries. You could try Hitec Germany http://www.hitecrc.de/store/home.php but to be honest with you... I would just buy new gearsets for them and use them because it's probably not worth the hassle of trying to get them covered under warranty from an agent that is not responsible for your country.

I would still strongly suggest you replace the 5975's in that model with metal geared servos like the 5985 or 5955's.

Unfortunately there are no metal gear replacements for the 5975's.

How much does you Ultimate weigh?

Mike.
