RE: Aurora 9 trainer cord.
Here's a good thread on the trainer function. The part numbers you're looking for are in the first paragraph.

RE: Aurora 9 trainer cord.
Part number 58320 and 58321 are what you need for the Aurora and would allow you to buddy box it to any existing Hitec radio that has a trainer port.

Just a comment re Trainer lead between 2 x Aurora 9 transmitters. --> PN 58320 cable
The "instruction sheet" that comes with the cable is a masterpiece of confusion - well that's how I found it!
I've eventually sorted out how to connect and make it work and wondered if my check list would be of use to others.

The "instruction sheet" that comes with the cable is a masterpiece of confusion - well that's how I found it!
I've eventually sorted out how to connect and make it work and wondered if my check list would be of use to others.
Setting up Buddy/Trainer lead (PN 58320)
Between 2 x Aurora 9 transmitters
- Remove module from the “Student” transmitter.
- On the master:-
- Turn on,
- Select the model and confirm “yes” à Ready to transmit – Yes
- Choose “System” screen à Trainer tab
- (If necessary) toggle between “Act” & “Inh” à “Switch”, click to choose activation switch – I suggest that you select either the sprung loaded switch or a toggle switch handy to the throttle.
- Back out of screen – top left corner = [Trainer] OFF
- Click ‘switch’ (showing the activation switch you have chosen)
- Screen then shows the double triangle opposite the switch.
- If you toggle the activation switch, the triangles will alternately show black, but both show “OFF”
- Toggle the activation switch to show the ‘side’ you want to be “ON” and click the “OFF” sign à will then “ON” in box to right.
- Back out of screens = Master Tx set up.
- On the Student Tx:-
- Repeat steps above on the student’s Tx
- To operate:-
- Plug lead into Master Tx and turn on – ready to transmit - No.
- Copy all details of model, channel allocations (if required) and trim adjustments from Master Tx to Student Tx – Set up a “new model” setting, if not already created
- Plug lead into Student’s Tx.
- Ensure that the “toggle switch” (Off / On) is in the “On” position
- Check that when Master Tx toggles to Student, all control surfaces act as expected
- Do range check for both Transmitters (Student’s being “active” from the Master during range check).
