Which Servo for 3D?
I realize that this may be a stupid question, but I got to ask it anyway.
I am learning to fly 3D and fly the SPA3D and SPA3DT. Originally I installed HS-300's in both planes and have a nasty habit of stripping them out quite easily (watched a fly land on one of the ailerons last weekend and stripped the servo :D). I found out that the HS-300's have been discontinued for over 3 years and were primairily designed for trainers (maybe that's why I have so many of them ;)). That would account for them stripping out so easily. My question is, which of the Hitec servo's (keeping cost in mind) would be better suited for these 3D birds? I have a few HS-422's and some HS-425BB's that I recently got. Would these work enough to prevent the flies from stripping the gears out? Any and all suggestions, advice and/or information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, |
RE: Which Servo for 3D?
You may have slightly better results with the 422/425's but they are still a similar material. I would look at the 475's which use the Karbonite gear train which is 4 times stronger. The next step would be the 525MG.
