Servo Version

Mike, I have several servos with a March 02 date on them, do you have a published list of version numbers and the corresponding dates that are labeled on the servos? Looking for the version numbers on these servos as well I have some others that may need to be updated.

Thanks
Jeff

PS: Programmer is on its way:D

RE: Servo Version

Mar 02 would be revision v1.03, know advantge can be realized from program updates with v1.03 servos to date.

RE: Servo Version

Mike, my programmer should be here any day now and I was wondering if you had any kind of metrics built that you could share that would identify each servos version by the date or label that is on the servo etc and when it would be necessary to upgrade the software when using them for instance with the Futaba PCM and two servos on a wye etc.

This would be a big help since I have several Hitec digital servos and have not used a programmer yet and could use the information to determine if and when I should update them.

Thanks
Jeff

RE: Servo Version

Jeff,

The software is not Futaba PCM relevant.... The Futaba PCM was an OEM compatibility issue that was realized after the first release of any revision v1.04 Hitec digital servo. Later servos were updated with a new component that eliminated the problem. Existing servos can be updated free of charge by Hitec Service.

The date codes and identifying symbols are not cast in stone and only offer an educated guess on the software/evolution/origin of our servos.

From 2002 through 2005 all servos were revision v1.03 and used a like numbered software revision. In 2005 Hitec released revision v1.04 servos and these are currently available to date. V1.04 servos must be programmed with a HFP-10 with the v1.04 software.

I would update all my servos with your new HFP-10 by performing a “RESET”, this will load the latest software revision available to date. As I mentioned previously there is no advantage to updating a v1.03 servo with v1.04 firmware, it will only allow you the peace of mind of knowing that you have the most current software available.
