RE: Servo recommendation

Our best servo for this application IMO is the 5955TG digital... That said there are other options, did you have a budget in mind?

I have the TF Corsair as well, its fitted with a Taurus TS-62cc engine, its a great model.

I second Mike's recommendation -- those 5955TG's rock!

There's little point these days in buying anything smaller for a large-scale plane because the money you save in replacement gearsets (ie: the 5955TG's just don't seem to wear at all) more than makes up for any higher initial cost when compared to regular metal geared servos.

The HS-5645's sport digitals will work fine for your model.

Have fun...

Hi Mike!!

I've read a lot on Hitec servo, and it seems to be very good servos!!
I bought the Spektrum DX7, and shey came with 4 JR DS821 servo
I want to put on the rudder the hitec 5955tg and it's connected with a Y
with the tail wheel that will have one of the ds821 servo
there will be a problem plugins this 2 servos on the Y??

thanks!!

RE: Servo recommendation

As long as you utilize a quality heavy duty wye and extensions there should be NO problems... Addtionally a 6.0V power system would be best.

RE: Servo recommendation

Mike, I just bought a Hitec 5645 from Tower Hobbies, I also have two more on order from TBM. All three slated for the tail of my GP Cap232. The one servo from Tower Hobbies has a lot of play, when I hold the case and pull back and forth on the servo arm it moves about 32th to 16th of an inch. That's wether it's turned on or off. The JR ST125MG that it replaced had no play at all. Is this normal for the 5645 or do I need to send it back for repair or tune up? This servo also has a whine to it when turned on? This is my first digital servo. Thanks, Henry

RE: Servo recommendation

The 5645 does like most MG servos have some play in the gear mesh, it sounds like yours is OK! Digitals servo generate a whine while supporting or under load, even on rudder if the cables are tight or similar. The secret to minimizing the buzz noise is to ensure the surface is unencumbered and moves freely and does not bind up at extreme throws.
