eclipse 7 dual elevators
 

hello can anyone help me with my eclipse 7 radio in relation to setting up two elevator servos to work properly with the radio i can get both servos working with one of the mixers but i cant trim both of them on the digital elevator trim if someone could tell me how its done (setting up two servos on the elevator into the radio programming) it would be much appreciated.

It can't be done, it's a limitation of the radio.

The Eclipse is quite a dated (but still quite functional) design that was conceived before split elevators became as common as they are now.

The Optic 6 has this capability -- but then you're a channel down.

You might be better off with a reversing Y-cable, but watch that you get one which allows you to set the end-points if you're not using Hitec programmable digitals.

For the "dual elevator servo" planes on my Eclipse, I use a JR Matchbox - works well and is the most reliable unit I have found for such application. I haven't had much in the way of good luck with the other types of reversing Y leads.

I sure wish HiTec would come out with either
A 7 or 9 channel version of the Optic 6. (To make it really worthwhile - it would also be in a better quality case than the Optic 6)

or

An Eclipse with the Ailevator Function (Ideally a 9 channel also)

Actually, the latest firmware for the Eclipse 7 (QPCM) has an ailevator mix built into it and the trim works on both servos in that application -- however it is officially "unsupported" by Hitec who recommend you don't use it. Go figure.

Many Eclipse issued past twelve months do have Ailevator function, however read previous coments on Hitec/Multiplex talk forum

(have not, to date, seen nor heard of any problems experienced by users of Eclipse which have the Ailv function.)

k thanks guys i have the old version so i think i might just buy a servo reverser and y harness or a new spektrum or 9x instead lol
