RX problems
 

I have 2 Hitec RX's that have all by there lonesomes exchanged servo outputs (throttle stick works ch 2 on one ouher elev stick works the rudder & vice versa.) could a static shock into the antenna have cuased this ? I feel they are ruined but don't want to do any more.

Static shock has caused the demise of many electronic components from day one of the technology.
However, other possibilites exist but without knowing brand/ model TX and model of RX being used (and are genuine Hitec crystals being used in the receivers?) it is scrambling in the dark. The following links may clarify some issues with recent receivers.
TX on first off last is more important now than ever before as the modern RX haver a mixture of PLL, IPD, AGC (Auto Gain Control), Auto Shift.and other similar features search for and lock onto a nearby signal. If TX is turned on last, the receiver may not lock onto the correct signal. (If the RX is ever turned on first, the rx whilst searching for a signal may drive the servos beyond their physical stops or pull control surfaces beyond their limits.)
