Hitec Eclipse 7 toast

After an overnight charge, I went to fly this morning and the radio did not work only displaying 15.5V on the display, which I know is not right. So, I would like to have this repaired and I live in the San Diego area. Can I simply walk this radio in for repair? Thanks for any info.

Please do not expect USARep response before tomorrow as Time Zone Converter shows your time is now11:49 Sunday November 1, 2009 and like similar businesses, Hitec RCDUSA office closes Saturday &Sunday.
Suggest you phone Hitec service information direct during business hours tomorrow.
As an aside, your screen displays typical info displayed afterbatterypolarity has been reversed.

Ok, I'm sure I fried the radio then. I made sure that it was connected properly and still no joy. Thanks for the info and I'll contact Hitec today.

15.5 volts displayed indicates that the battery polarity has been reversed somehow. You can drop off the radio at our facility for repair. The main board is going to have to be replaced in the Tx. Cost for this is somewhere around $55.

Hi Brendan

I have a Hitec Eclipse which is about 4 maybe 5 years old and it has always worked fine but about a year or a year and a half ago it failed to work .The screen shows a voltage but it did not send out a signal.

At that time I sent in the transmitter for repair .I was very happy because they replaced the IC board for no charge (I had no receipt or time of purchase) it was obviously out of warrantee. MANY THANKS to a good company.

Now it has done the same thing .Possibly the IC board is gone again .Could it be some kind of defect ?

Thanks
Charlie

It's not a defect. The only time a voltage of 15.5 volts is displayed on the screen is when the battery has been plugged in backwards or power has been shorted out.

Hi Brendan

My situation is not like the other entrant .My voltage reads 10.3 and the battery has never been removed .

What do you think Hitec will do for my repair ?

Thanks again
Charlie

All we can do it take a look at it to see that the problem is and go from there. You can download our service form from our site. Fill in the blanks and send the radio in.

** As a reminder to everyone, Please start a NEW thread for new problems. Don't piggyback on old threads or threads that are not the same issue you are having. ;)
