Lipo in a 2.4 tx?
I've got an xl 5.9 with a 2.4 tx.
In my box of electric plane stuff I found a 640mah 2 cell 7.4v lipo. I can wire it in the bottom easy enough and it fits perfect under the AA battery retainer with plenty of room to spare for the wiring and connector.
Can I expect any problems by using this pack instead of the 6AA cells recommended? Those can get expensive after a while.

RE: Lipo in a 2.4 tx?
it all depends on what the recievber is rated for as an input voltage. 7.4 is pushing, and may be too much ...also ull need a lvc to make sure as to not ruin that lipo

we're not talking about receivers, transmitters are the topic at hand
I've ran my 3S in a transmitter for a month and it only drops about 1V. I just charge it periodically.

oh ya "tx"...lol giver. see what happens. that lipo will be producing a little less voltage than what the 6 alkaline would (7.4 vs 9v) but give it a try!
